The Colorado Wilderness - Part 1 | Tenkara Dry Fly Fishing & Unexpected Gem

Mid September, 2026. I had the first half of the day to explore a wilderness area that I haven’t been able to get to before. The original plan was to reach the inlet of a lake, hike up the creek, which is supposed to have Colorado River Cutthroat trout, and reach the upper lake and fish that for a bit. That plan did not work out due to the fact that the only reasonable way to reach the inlet is on water. Plan B was a tributary to another creek I knew nothing about. It turned out to be full of surprises!
